The Trillion Dollar Shift

On January 25th, 2018, Marga Hoek’s latest book was presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The Trillion Dollar Shift is printed on paper made from agricultural waste (leaves and stems) by HPI member PaperWise, with Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Silver offset inks by HPI member Green4Print. The production was based on an IPA (solvent) free print process by Ecodrukkers. Additionally, the CO2 footprint of the book was compensated, and the laminate for the cover is wood-based and biodegradable. The first edition of the book counts 3000 copies.

A great example of healthy printing as a product of collaboration between producers throughout the value chain.

Business for good is good business

The book’s production and the book’s content go hand in hand: in The Trillion Dollar Shift, Hoek sets out to explain how business and capital have the responsibility, and opportunity to create sustainable value, and contribute to the solving of global challenges, using the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework. Working towards these SDGs is not just a goal on its own, by doing so tremendous opportunities and new markets become available. As Hoek states: “Business for good is good business”.
